Koyabu Gula. (a delicious traditional dish from Indonesia which has a modern taste, if you taste once, u will want it more)

Koyabu Gula is a traditional dish from Maluku, especially west Seram. It’s made from cassava and two kinds of sugar. People always eat koyabu Gula when there are traditional events like a wedding party, traditional bazaar or just for having a meal in the evening with family.

It is a simple dish and very easy to make. You can make it by yourself in your house if you follow the instructions sequentially. But before you start the process, it would be better if we know the ingredients and the equipments needed first. All of the ingredients are easy to be found in the market and also very cheap, so you don’t have to be worry about the budget that you need to make this delicious dish. All you needs are 175 grams of cassava, 225 grams of coconut, and 200 grams of palm sugar and granulate sugar, and don’t forget ¾ teaspoon of salt. You don’t have to be worry because we don’t have to use any specific kinds of cassava. Because we can make Koyabu Gula from all kinds of cassava. While the equipment needed are a pan, stove, knife, plate or bowl and grater.

When all the ingredients and equipments needed has already prepared, you can starts by prepare the main ingredients like peeling the cassava and wash it until it’s really clean to be processed. After that, scar it with a grater. We also need to scar the coconut and removed the water after being blackmailed (we don’t need the coconut milk, but don’t throw it away because you can make other delicious dish from it too ;) ). Then, mix the cassava and coconut which are already peeled and scared with the palm sugar, granulate sugar, and also salt. Steam the ingredients that have been mixed in a pan for 20 minutes. After you steam, put them into a jar or glass and steam them again in a pan for a while. You can lifted it when you feel that its ready to be enjoyed.

There are several things that you shouldn't do during the process of making koyabu gula. avoid under and over cook, because the taste would be bitter if it's over cook and would be feel raw if it's under cook. of course you don't want to eat a charred and a raw food ain't you? you can also combine it with other ingredients that would make koyabu gula tastier. for instance, maybe you can add some chocolates or if you can not find a cassava in your placce, you can substitute into other things like glutinous rice flour or something like that whatever you want.

when every process has been done, your koyabu gula is ready to be enjoyed. you can enjoy it in the evening with your family and friends. you can also make this dsih as your breakfast because it contains healthy natural food like cassava that would give you energy to start the day (cassava is the best food when you hungry too, it based on my experience in one morning with fried and boiled cassava :D). it also would be tastier if you enjoy it when it just server because it feels like the koyabu gula melting inside your mouth.

so gengs, selamat mencoba :)
