SEMANTICS in general

Assalamualaikum guys,,
kali ini gue mau posting salah satu materi kuliah gue yaitu Introduction to linguistic, lebih tepatnya lagi SEMANTICS tp materi ini hanya mencakup Definition, Meaning, how can meaning be communicated dan How can meaning be communicated through language.

we can begin from the definition of semanctics from several authors below :

we normally know that "oh lovely" means that cute, it means that we don't have to know the meaning from each word from the dictionary. we can look at a sentence before "oh lovely"

 the picture means that the speaker has something in her mind which is can be an ideas or feeling etc. she decide to communicate it linguistically. the vocal noises then emitted and heard by the hearer who translate the vocal noises in the form of ideas and the result is now she know what the speaker are think. "something" that at the speaker's mind and now also in the hearer mind is we called MEANING

we also can show our hands to communicate meaning. not onlu that, we can also use lots of symbols
